How The World Works
Central Idea: People´s actions impact our world´s drinking supplies.
In class we did a reflection on water. We were supposed to pick a different country other than america and see how much water a person uses a day in that country. We did the same with america then compared. After we did that we were asked 2 questions. Her is my reflection.
Water Reflection.
What did you find? I found out that in Luxembourg a person a day uses about 101.5 gallons of water a day. I also found out that in america a person uses about 100 gallons a day. I only use about 48.2 gallons a days. What do you think? I thought about why they would need all of that water. I also thought about what do they do to get that extra gallon.

Apple world.
In class we cut up an apple to show how much water there was. The apple is the world. The slices are water and land.
Testing habitat water reflection.
In class we tested our backyard habitats water to see if it was healthy and clean. We were each given something to test on and i got chlorine. We did a poster on chlorine. Here it is.
Wonder and Knowledge wall.
In class we did a wonder and knowledge wall on water. Here is what I said.
Wonder: I wonder if we really will run out of water? I wonder if we can turn ocean water into clean drinkable water? I wonder how much people die from unhealthy water?
Knowledge: I know that not all water is clean. I know that people tend to over use water. I know that things live in water. I know that not everybody gets clean water. I know that not all water is clean.

Reflection - Dana Point Ocean Institute
Please answer the following questions, reflecting on your experience today at the Ocean Institute, Dana Point.
- What did you find interesting?
- What did you learn while on land at the Ocean Institute?
- What did you learn while on the boat at the Ocean Institute?
- How do people’s actions affect the marine (ocean) ecosystem?
- How can you apply what you learned today to your life? Is there anything you can do to try and help our ocean, its ecosystem, and our Earth’s water supply?
Splash Reflection
I learned more about how we affect our safe water supply like how our leaves and dirt dirty our water. I also learned about a place called trash island or something like that and we store most of our trash in the ocean and now it is twice as big as texas. I learned that people are trying to use the trash from trash island to make things, like Adidas is making soles out of the plastic.
I can use this information to help make our waters clean by picking up pet scat. tell somebody their car is leaking and should get it fixed, and not spray pesticide and other chemicals on my plants and gardens. I could find my own way to recycle.
SOAR Reflection
1) I learned that chinchillas live in cold and dry areas. I also learned that chinchillas clean themselves by rolling around in dust because their fur is so fragile. learned why baby giraffes are so tall, because they need to reach their mom’s belly or milk.
2) I enjoyed looking at the tiger because that was when we meet up with everybody and got to talk and enjoy the tigers together. I also like how that baby tiger looked. I liked playing tag and playing on the playground because i got scared ( because someone scared me) and laughed alot and just really had a good time.
